Heather Saad


Heather is a 21-year-old junior at the University of Alabama where she is majoring in journalism. Originally from Mobile, Ala., Heather started modeling at the age of 15 in her hometown. Through her experience as a model, she felt pressured to constantly be smaller than she was. Heather eventually stopped modeling and was diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder. Today Heather focuses on being healthy and comfortable in her own skin.


What is your dream job? Stylist for a fashion magazine

What is your favorite virtue? I have great family and friends in my life!

What is your favorite food? West Indies Salad

Who is your role model and why? My sister Courtney. She has never let anyone or anything get in her way of what she wants to do with her life.

What is your advice to women who struggle with body image? Healthy is beautiful!

What is your idea of happiness? My idea of happiness is taking pleasure in the simple things and enjoying the people who matter most in your life.

What is beauty? Beauty is what makes a person unique. The fact that everyone is different is beautiful to me.

What do you enjoy doing most? Hanging out at the beach, trying new food and traveling

If not yourself, who would you like to be? Kate Middleton

What is your biggest weakness? Sometimes I think way too far into things and the important things can be overshadowed by the small details I allow myself to dwell on.

What is your biggest strength? I always try to look on the bright side.

What natural gift would you most like to possess? I wish I had a good singing voice!

What do you most value in your friends? They are all so different but we hold each other together. I know they will always be honest with me when I need a reality check.
